Students start with the intellectual revival of the Renaissance, work through the Reformation, the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment, the age of revolutions, industrialisation, nationalism, imperialism, the world wars, the Cold War and integration. The course emphasises both Europe's internal transformation and its global reach.
