The exam includes distinctive tasks such as story narration (a four-image picture sequence) and a computer-based conversation simulation. The cultural-comparison section asks students to compare China with their own culture using specific examples. Either is accepted, but be consistent across all tasks. Most schools teach simplified; students from Taiwan or Hong Kong sometimes prefer traditional.
Not directly — the exam is computer-delivered, so input is keyboard-based with IME. Handwriting practice still helps with character recognition.
