Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, work in much the same way. They let a site remember you between requests, keep you signed in, and measure how features are used.

2. The cookies we use

We set no cookies at all when you first open the site. The list below is every cookie the site actually uses, with when each one appears. We do not use advertising, profiling or retargeting cookies.

Strictly necessary

Needed to sign in, to pay and to remember your cookie choice. If you block them, those features stop working.

• __consent: remembers your cookie choice. Set when you choose an option on the banner. Duration: 180 days.
• sb-…-auth-token: set by Supabase Auth only when you sign in, and keeps you signed in. Removed when you sign out; kept for up to 400 days and refreshed automatically.
• estate_dv: a strictly necessary security cookie, set only when you are signed in. It holds a one-way hashed marker that your session is open and the only one; it lasts up to 7 days. For the same purpose we use estate_dv_chk, estate_dv_ended and estate_dv_notice, which last up to 15 minutes, to tell you once when your session was closed because of a sign-in on another of our sites or another device.
• __stripe_mid (1 year) and __stripe_sid (30 minutes): set by Stripe on checkout pages only, for payment security and fraud prevention. Stripe's fraud-prevention services may also set cookies on their own domains during checkout. Stripe is not loaded anywhere else on the site.

Analytics

To understand which pages and features are useful we use Google Analytics 4. It sets these cookies only if you choose "Accept all" on the cookie banner:

• _ga: distinguishes visitors.
• _ga_G81WWG3G16: holds session state.

Google keeps them for 2 years; some browsers, Chrome among them, cap that at 400 days. They are not required for the site to work. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless.

Browser storage

A few preferences are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies: your TestPrep AI Tutor voice and language, the section order you chose, your question-bank session settings and whether you have already seen a pop-up. They stay on your device and are never used for marketing.

Marketing

We do not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies on this site. If we add any in the future, this policy and the cookie banner will be updated first, and we will only set them after you opt in.

3. Managing your choices

On your first visit we show a banner with two options: "Necessary cookies only" and "Accept all". Until you accept, whether you have not chosen yet or chose necessary cookies only, Google Analytics runs in Google's Consent Mode: it sets no cookies and uses no identifier, and sends only anonymous measurement signals such as which page was viewed. Advertising and personalisation features are off in every case. If you accepted earlier and then decline, the _ga cookies already set are deleted.

Your choice is stored in the __consent cookie for 180 days, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies; be aware that strictly necessary cookies are required for signing in and checkout to work.

4. How long cookies last

__consent lasts 180 days; the sign-in cookie (sb-…-auth-token) up to 400 days or until you sign out; __stripe_mid 1 year and __stripe_sid 30 minutes; estate_dv up to 7 days; estate_dv_chk, estate_dv_ended and estate_dv_notice up to 15 minutes. The Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_G81WWG3G16) last 2 years, or 400 days in browsers that cap cookie lifetimes.

5. Updates

We update this policy whenever we change the cookies we use. We publish changes on this page, and the "Last updated" date changes with them.
