Crucially, APES asks students not just to describe environmental problems but to reason quantitatively about them: a typical FRQ might require computing energy yields, projecting population growth or interpreting a regulatory document. Our programme pairs case-study discussion with FRQ-writing practice and calculation workshops to address both halves of the exam.

No. The exam has nine units of content, dense vocabulary, and quantitative FRQs done without a calculator. It's accessible but it isn't easy.
Yes — APES is often taken in 10th or 11th grade alongside Biology or Chemistry. The maths stays at algebra, and content can be learned from scratch with structured study.
Energy transfer, population growth, half-life, dilution, and percent-change problems — done by hand. We drill scientific notation and ratio arithmetic to make these reflexive.
