A-Level Environmental Science (AQA 7447) studies global climate change, the conservation of biodiversity, energy resources, pollution and sustainability within a rigorous scientific framework. It is well suited to students considering environmental engineering, ecology, geography or sustainability policy at university.

A-Level Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary subject examining the interaction between living organisms and the physical environment, the impact of human activity on natural systems, and routes to sustainable solutions. AQA 7447 has seven sections: The living environment, The physical environment (the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, mineral resources, biogeochemical cycles and soils), Energy resources, Pollution, Biological resources, Sustainability and Research methods. It is assessed by two three-hour written papers with no coursework, although schools must give every student at least four days of fieldwork (or two days plus 12 laboratory activities). Our lessons work on the past-paper format, data interpretation and extended writing.

    FixExplain the process first (for example, how eutrophication develops), then evaluate control strategies and their limits. The Pollution section itself runs in that order: the properties of pollutants, how environmental features affect severity, then control strategies.
