  • A shared board
  • It won't lead with the answer, or withhold it

How AP Scoring Works

The AP Art History exam is scored on a 1–5 scale. Most US universities grant college credit or placement for scores of 3 and above, while the most selective programmes typically expect a 4 or 5. Our practice tests estimate your score on this same scale.

5

Extremely well qualified

Top band; the best chance of credit and placement.

4

Well qualified

Strong result; accepted for credit at most universities.

3

Qualified

Passing level; the credit threshold at many universities.

2

Possibly qualified

Credit is rare; targeted review recommended.

1

No recommendation

Core topics should be studied again.
