How AP Scoring Works

The AP Chemistry exam is scored on a 1–5 scale. Most US universities grant college credit or placement for scores of 3 and above, while the most selective programmes typically expect a 4 or 5. Our practice tests estimate your score on this same scale.

5

Extremely well qualified

Top band; the best chance of credit and placement.

4

Well qualified

Strong result; accepted for credit at most universities.

3

Qualified

Passing level; the credit threshold at many universities.

2

Possibly qualified

Credit is rare; targeted review recommended.

1

No recommendation

Core topics should be studied again.

AP Chemistry Practice Tests — Frequently Asked Questions

Are the AP Chemistry practice tests in the real exam format?▾

Yes. Our mocks follow the current College Board AP Chemistry exam structure, question types and timing.

How is my score calculated?▾

Your raw score is mapped to an estimated 1–5 using a model close to the official AP Chemistry conversion, and shown in a detailed report.

What's the difference between QBank and a practice test?▾

A practice test is a full-length, timed rehearsal; the QBank is for topic-based, targeted drilling. Use both together for the best results.

How many times can I take each test?▾

Up to twice. The second attempt lets you sit the same test again after working on your mistakes and see how much you have improved.

How long do I have access to the tests I buy?▾

Practice tests you buy stay available on your account for 12 months from the date of purchase. When they come with a tutoring package or a course, the 12 months start on the day they are unlocked on your account.
